Who Is…Ada Boulevard

Posted by Craig Pilgrim on 25 March 2008

Ada Boulevard was officially created in 1949 out of a six-block portion of Jasper Avenue. The street was named for Ada Thirsee Magrath, wife of entrepreneur and early-1900s real estate developer William J. Magrath — who among other things is credited with the development of the Highlands and Glenora neighbourhoods. Ada Boulevard was extended in 1970 to include a two-block section of 113 avenue located between 48th and 50th streets.
